Our People
Peter Benda, President
Peter Benda has 20 years of consulting experience in cost reduction, operational improvement, and strategy across a large range of industries, including financial services, manufacturing, utilities, the mining industry, and state and federal agencies.
He has led the strategic sourcing engagements end to end from diagnostic to requirements definition, spend cube development, market and supplier analysis, strategy development, usage reduction, tendering, negotiations, and implementation of sustainable supplier solutions. Typical client annual procurement has ranged from several hundred million dollars to several billion dollars. He has helped clients with procurement transformation, including organizational design, process implementation, training (development and delivery), and coaching. His sourcing experience covers all major sourcing categories: direct, indirect, capital equipment, and services, including IT services and technology.
In addition to sourcing, he has worked extensively in workforce productivity, ranging from front line construction productivity up through management/”white collar” effectiveness. He has implemented governance systems, including enterprise-level value models with associated KPIs and cascaded accountabilities. As an executive at Capital One, he led efforts to improve workforce effectiveness and was business owner of Capital One’s enterprise document management platform.
He has been involved in technology commercialization as a founder and senior executive of several startups. He has several patents in logistics and asset risk management.
He has an MBA in Finance from Wharton, an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Washington.
